Lavander is two weeks old

Lavander is now two weeks old and growing. Although she's being nursed by Iris there's no way we would ever confuse her with Iris's babies. Just look at her pretty face...she's a small Ghost only in blue colour, totally straight and long profile.
She's even takes after Ghost in her temperament. She's very active already, everytime we touch her she meows and she really likes to feel the warm of our bodies when we put her against our chest.

Kunji's kittens are 6 weeks

Today the kittens decided it was time to go outside and play with the grown ups.
Not that the weather was that good(apparently our good weather moved to Germany, right Anja :-)), but they really enjoyed playing on the grass chasing everything. It's so funny to watch them miming the "oldies".

Even lazy Felix entered the game of Hide and Seek.
The sad part is that there are only six more weeks to be with this amazing kittens... being a breeder is tough on those sad moments.

Congratulations to our litter 5 ( 27 -04-2004)

Many congratulations to Ljubljana, Riga, Nicosia and Talin for their third birthday.

We hope they spend a great day surrounded by tender, love and care and their favourite food.

A special kiss to Nicosia because she has four beautiful kittens to look after.

They're huge

Iris's babies are 5 days old and their weights is amazing: 269, 255; 253. Arwen and Eowyn(the girls) are huge, bigger than Legolas. They are really Iris's kittens, big heads, fantastic bone structure and huge. Iris is our biggest female, her weight is always around 5,500kg and all of her children inherit her good characteristics.

She is a super mum, her babies are always well taken care gaining around 30 grams a day. We believe that is why she thinks when they turn four weeks they are big enough to take care of themselves. Not at all like our Stella who nurses her babies almost til they are old enough to go to their new homes. That's why Iris never looses too much weight from nursing while Stella always looses about 1 kg.

Our Golden Boy

Kunji's kittens are now 5 weeks old and they are all so beautiful,but this little fellow is a real eye catcher. Rainbow has the most beautiful colour, he isn't just a black mackerel tabby, he is definitely a golden boy. We never had one before, but António always wanted a golden cat. Maybe next time because we're going to keep Lilium and it would be a huge mistake to keep two brothers.

For the moment we are thinking on buying a new male to bring new lines and genes to our cattery.

So, I guess when the time comes to our dear Felix be living a happy life as a neuter(many years from now), he will be replaced by a golden male, his son and Kunji's.

Lavander

Sweet Lavander turned 1 week yesterday. She is a beautiful kitten with the straightest profile and the cuttest face.

She didn't have a very easy start because she was left alone in the litter when her sister died. Ghost was very upset by loosing Erica that she decided that she didn't want Lavander anymore. Luckily Iris gave birth the same day and totally accepted Lavander who is now a huge and happy kitten only three days older than her half-siblings, all nursing from the abundant and rich Iris's milk.

As for Ghost, she's now living with Kunji and her kittens and, believe it or not, she seems to have learnt how to be a good mother - with Kunji's babies!!!! She's nursing them(she has plenty of milk) and they are loving it. Some females have the weirdest behaviour....

Happy Birthday Felix - 08/04/07

My sweet boy turned 6 years old last Sunday. I know I'm three days late, but his babies occupy my time now - it has been a busy week trying to get them to eat dry food and cleaning after them.

Felix had his "birthday cake" - his favourite food , a can of fish, that he ate with pleasure. Then he gave me a present too - his head against my legs with a loud purr. What more can a person ask for....

Kittens at 3 weeks

Rainbow sleeping and Lilium looking attentively...they are growing fast and their characteristics are starting to show. They are all so different but so sweet and playful. Their teeth have come out and my hands look like they have been cuddling with a baby tiger.

I have been feeding them with substitution milk to help Kunji coping with their never ending hunger. My sweet princess has been so brave taking care of them all. The other day I was looking at them and I almost couldn't see Kunji, just her sweet head and her purring. This week I'll start the dry food. Maybe they'll prefer it to milk.

Babies at 2 weeks

All of the little beauties have already opened their eyes, gained a lot of weight and started to walk in a shaky way.

They are very funny to look at since they all are very determined. When they want something either they call mummys attention or they call mine ;-)))
