Lynx pardinus

As most people know by now the lynx is my favourite feline, especially our Iberian Lynx, Lynx Pardinus with its own unique features, that makes him one of the most beautiful and enchanting animals ever to have walked this Earth.

Because of his unique characteristics along with the destruction of his habitat and consequently his primary food suply- the wild rabbit - the Lynx pardinus is the most threatened feline in the world. Their population is estimated to be around 200 in all of Iberia(Portugal and Spain).
It's very urgent to preserve their habitats and enhance the wild rabbit population.
Today good news arrived from E.U. - € 4 million to help this endangered animal along with three other species of birds that are native to Portugal.

Our Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (LPN) - League for Nature Preservation is doing a wonderful job with a programme of awareness. Here is the link in case you are interested, and it has an English version: http://www.lpn.pt/#20-PT
